About 2 months we went to three wineries in the Olney & Lawrenceville area. We went with my daughter & her husband, along with some of their friends.
First we went to Fox Creek Vineyards right outside of Olney Il. This nice winery is small, but we soon discovered some great tasting wine. We tried many different wines, while my husband prefers the dryer wines, I was enjoying the sweeter wines. The owners were very friendly. After making a few purchases, we were on our way to the next winery.
Lasata Winery is located in Lawrenceville IL. This beautiful winery is a nice place for family & friends to meet. They also have an outdoor patio for special occasions, or you can sit outside & enjoy nature all around you. They have a lot of great wine to choose from. When we see the owners, at a local wine tasting event. They always have a smile on their face & great wines for us to try.
White Owl Winery was the last stop of the day. Located just outside of Birds IL. They have many different wines to choose from. While my husband enjoyed the dryer wines, my favorite is Sweet Liberty Red. While the name sounds sweet, I would call it more of a semi-sweet wine.
On Sundays they sometimes have musicians playing Celtic music. The musicians were not there that day, I've heard them play the first time I visited the winery. They were a lot of fun to listen to.
We had a great time exploring the different wineries, & making new friends along the way!
